Two members of the Defence forces visited our school today to deliver the Tricolour and a copy of the 1916 Proclamation. Two Junior Infants were presented with the Flag and a second class pupil was presented with the Proclamation. The history of our National Flag and how to respect and care for it was explained. Part of the Proclamation was read by a 6th class child. The children sang Amhrán na bhfiann and played some Irish tunes on the tin whistle. Many parents, grandparents and community members attended and it was a very interesting and enjoyable afternoon.
